Released by HTC late in 2009, the advanced and intuitive HTC HD2 mobile phone combines awesome Windows mobile functionality with one of the largest, most visually stunning displays available.

"The HD2's amazing customer experience is a testament to the close partnership between HTC and Microsoft and we're excited to be bringing the HD2 to UK and the United States," said Chou. "The HD2 is the first Windows phone with HTC SenseTM, an HTC user experience focused on making the phone more simple and natural to use and by enabling people to personalise their mobile experience in their own unique way."

"Working with HTC, we've delivered great phones that help customers connect to the people and information they care about, wherever they are," said Ballmer. "The HTC HD2 shows what's possible through our close partnership with HTC and it breaks new ground for Windows phones by delivering a beautiful multi-touch screen that people will love."

"At HTC we believe that the best things in life should be experienced, not explained. HTC Sense is based on this principle by making the phone more simple and natural to use and by enabling people to personalise their mobile experience in their own unique way," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. With HTC Sense, the HTC HD2 melds the power and flexibility of the Windows platform with the most advanced phone we've ever created."

"HTC has a long history of innovation with Windows Mobile, shipping millions of devices over the years in a wide range of designs," said Andy Lees, senior vice president, Mobile Communication Business, Microsoft Corp. "The HTC HD2 Windows phone breaks new ground with its responsive, touch screen."

The HTC HD2 is a quad band mobile phone with 3G (HSDPA - 7.2 Mbps) for super fast internet access, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Router, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and microUSB 2.0 connectivity. The HTC HD2 probably has one of the best displays I've seen on a mobile phone to date. The TFT touchscreen display (480 × 800 pixels and 65000 colours) is stunning. You can zoom and resize websites, Microsoft Office files, PDF documents and pictures with just a pinch of your fingers. Additionally there is a an accelerometer sensor for auto rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn off, pick to mute, multitouch input methods and HTC's Sense User Interface.

Other features of the HTC HD2 mobile phone include: vibrate alert, polyphonic ringtones, MP3 ringtones, WAV ringtones, WMA ringtones, speakerphone, 3.5 mm audio jack, 5 megapixel digital camera (with autofocus, LED flash and Geo-tagging), HTML web browser, stereo FM radio with RDS, games, GPS receiver (with A-GPS support), music player (supports MP3, WAV, WMA and eAAC+ formats), video player (supports MP4, WMV, H.264 and H.263 formats), Facebook and Twitter integration, Youtube client, pocket office, voice memo and T9 predictive text.
